Brief: Transaction Account

We’ve had some noble projects this season. Islam. Hurricanes. Babies.

But every now and then our job requires us to straight up sell stuff.

So for your final task, we want you to get us excited about banking.

This is your challenge:

Pick a transaction account (i.e. a ‘debit card’ or ‘everyday’ account) from any bank in the world. Then come up with a way to get more people taking up that transaction account… a lot more people.

Oh… and the client has just told you there is no budget to do anything above the line.

When judging we’ll put 50% weighting on the potential of your idea to truly generate more customers – and 50% on how creative your thinking is.

We aren’t experts on every transaction account in the world. So give us some context around your chosen market, product and bank in your setup. This should help us understand why your idea works by the end of your proposal.

P.S. We’re looking to fill more creative seats at Soap. If you’re interested in joining the second toughest digital agency in the world, this brief is your chance to show us what you got.

Summer Internship Program 2013

The Community Relations Division at the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office is now accepting applications for 2013 Summer Interns!

Interns will have the opportunity to work in San Francisco’s historic and dynamic City Hall, gain valuable experience in local government, showcase and tune her/his professional skills, build resume and community networks, add to professional portfolios, attain class credit, while having fun.

Who is eligible?

Anyone who is:

18 years old or older
Available for at least 10 hours of work per week
Enrolled in secondary education or job training program
Will provide own transportation
Will provide own computer/software
Self motivated
Demonstrated interest in public relations, marketing, journalism, social media, computer programming, design, film/video, research, local government, new media, or technology

When is the application deadline?

Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2013. Positions open until filled.

What is application process?

Upon review of the applicant’s resume and cover letter, candidates will be contacted via email to participate in an interview. Selected candidates will be notified of his/her acceptance shortly after the interview and no later than May 20, 2013.

What kinds of projects do Community Relations Division Interns work on?

Community Relations Interns work on a wide variety of projects. Each intern will be matched up with projects that best fit with her/his interest, skill, talents and experience level. This summer’s interns will be working on projects related to: public relations, marketing, journalism, social media, research, design, film/video, local government, new media, and/or technology.

Do I get paid?

No. Community Relations Internships are unpaid.

When do internships start and end?

Summer interns must attend a mandatory training/orientation on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. which begins the internship. Each intern will work out a schedule based on his/her summer schedule. Internships should last 10 to 12 weeks.

What are the minimum requirements?

At least ten hours per week for ten weeks.
